Parwez Bhugalee, is a graduate from the University of Cape-Town, holding a BSc Degree in Engineering with specialization in Telecommunications and Electronics. He is also a certified Project Manager and holder of a Management and Leadership certificate.

Having started his career outside of Mauritius as a junior Systems Engineer, Parwez worked for 3 years in overseas markets before joining BIRGER. in 2003.

Between 2003 and 2007, he worked as a Project Leader and eventually as a Project Manager, handling and supporting specific projects with the appropriate teams.

Between 2007 and 2014, his career path took him to a management role in the Enterprise Systems and Solutions business unit and the Head of BIRGER. Technology and Services division to develop our solutions offerings on the local and regional market. During that time, his responsibilities also included the strategic relationship management with Symantec to develop our portfolio of offerings in the security sphere.

Pete is a Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) (www.thebci.org), the founding chairman of the African Chapter of the BCI, a Director of the Global BCI Board, an approved BCI and ISO 22301 Instructor, the founding BCI Forum Chairman for Mauritius and surrounding Islands as well as the founding member of the East African BCI Forum. He was awarded the Business Continuity Consultant of the year in August 2014 and shortlisted for the Global BCI Awards that same year. 

Pete has successfully completed projects over the last 22 years in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Mauritius, Botswana, Mozambique, Swaziland, Lesotho, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania, UAE, United Kingdom, Angola, Madagascar, Benin and the United States of America.

In addition to being the official company Compliance Officer for the Continuity practice of Dimension Data, he has been advising several Global companies on COVID-19 resilience, Crisis Management and Risk & Resilience Implementation Programs.

Pete has worked with BIRGER. for over 3 years and has established the Resiliency core services. As from February 2022, he is the Executive - Resiliency Services.

Derrick joined BIRGER. as the technology sales officer since October 2021.

He holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology majoring in Cyber Security from the Carnegie Mellon University and a BSc degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Rwanda.

Derrick has vast experience in Data protection, IT Security support, Network Configuration and support, policy implementation and reporting in private and government institutions in Rwanda. He also has a working experience in Cyber security tools used in Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, Information security auditing, analysing data and privacy protection laws.

He is passionate about having the employees in different sectors made aware of the different threats in place and defensive practices to fully appreciate the benefits that information technology comes with.
