Working-From-Home : Secured Collaboration Tools
Following Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and national lockdowns across the globe, Zoom collaboration tool has become more popular and its use has grown exponentially. Unfortunately, this success has brought out security issues with this tool and those vulnerabilities have been exploited by hackers recently.
As such, the use of Zoom within BIRGER. is no more allowed with immediate effect. This also applies to requests from third parties who want to communicate through Zoom. If you receive such requests, you will need to schedule the meeting with Microsoft Teams. Webex requests from third parties is still acceptable. The use of Zoom within BIRGER. will be a breach of our Security Policy.
Moving forward, we have deployed Microsoft Teams on a pilot basis to be used as our teleconferencing tool. We can use it for conference calls and to share screens for ease of collaboration. However, sharing of files is NOT allowed for now.
