A1) It was on the 5 October 2010 that the Birger Indian Ocean office in Seychelles was launched, after 15 years of continued presence in Seychelles. The success of our operation in just 2.5 years in Seychelles is a boost to our regional development and I am proud to share with you that our expansion through Birger Indian Ocean is following the model established here in Seychelles. We are now present also in Comoros Islands, Madagascar and, of course, in our sister Island, Rodrigues.

R1) Il 5 ottobre 2010, fu aperta la sede di Birger Indian Ocean alle Seychelles, dopo 15 anni di presenza continuata nel Paese. Il successo della nostra operazione, in soli 2.5 anni alle Seychelles, è una spinta nei riguardi del nostro sviluppo regionale e sono orgoglioso di sottolineare in questa sede che la nostra espansione attraverso Birger Indian Ocean sta seguendo i programmi stabiliti. Ora siamo presenti anche nelle Isole Comore, Madagascar e, naturalmente, nella nostra isola sorella, Rodrigues.

Q2) Why did the parent company decide to open a local office in Seychelles?
D2) Perché la società madre decide di aprire un ufficio locale alle Seychelles?

A2) Blanche Birger, the Mauritian-based ICT company, decided to open an office in Seychelles for different reasons: first of all following requests from our partners such as NCR, IBM and Datacard, secondly to accompany our  customers in their regional development. Last but not least, Birger Indian Ocean has the ambition to share the history of our track-record, our innovative solutions and service culture acquired over the past 60 years to companies based in Seychelles. We consider the regional expansion of our group as a natural development since we were always active in the region over the past years.

Innanzitutto su richiesta dei nostri partner, tra i quali NCR, IBM e Datacard, dopodiché per accompagnare i nostri clienti nel loro sviluppo regionale. Ultimo ma non meno importante, Birger Indian Ocean ambisce a condividere la propria storia di track - recording, le proprie soluzioni innovative e la cultura del servizio acquisita nel corso degli ultimi 60 anni con le aziende che operano alle Seychelles. Consideriamo l'espansione regionale del nostro gruppo come uno sviluppo naturale, dato che siamo sempre stati attivi nella Regione negli ultimi anni.

Q3) What are the offering of Birger Indian Ocean (Seychelles) in terms of products, solutions and services?
D3) Qual è l'offerta di Birger Indian Ocean (Seychelles) in termini di prodotti, soluzioni e servizi?

A3) The offerings of the company are technology solutions and related services. We have specific expertise in the banking sector, telecoms and hospitality&retail sector as well. We offer solutions for all self-service (ATMs, POS, kiosks), infrastructure solutions (servers, storage, disaster recovery, business continuity) and security solutions (physical security, software security). All these solutions, once installed, benefit from a 24/7 level support.

R3) L'azienda offre soluzioni tecnologiche e servizi correlati. Possediamo expertise specifico nei settori bancario, telecomunicazioni ed anche servizi alberghieri e ristorazione. Offriamo soluzioni di tipo self service (bancomat, POS, cabine) per le infrastrutture (server, immagazzinamento e recupero dati, business continuity) e soluzioni per la sicurezza (fisica e software). Tutte queste soluzioni, dopo l’istallazione, beneficiano di supporto h 24.

Q4) Has BIOS had any success in Seychelles since opening offices in 2010?
D4) Quali sono i successi di BIOS alle Seychelles dall'apertura della sede nel 2010 ad oggi?

A4) BIOS success have been with banks, whilst providing selfservice solutions and infrastructure solutions, to the public sector where we provided infrastructure solutions as well as cards technology solutions, and insurance sector delivering infrastructure solutions.

A5) Birger Indian Ocean Seychelles currently works with leading technology firms like Microsoft, NCR, Datacard, Cisco and IBM, offering latest technology solutions in Seychelles. Our success will hinge on recruiting qualified, honest and competent people. Our local team will be able to emerge base on their values coupled with ongoing training which we provide either through our parent company in Mauritius or delivered by our partners.
