Organisational Resiliency
Resiliency is a proactive and recovery-oriented approach. It is the outcome of continuous risk management and the ability to recover from incidents while maintaining the continuity of key processes.

"Resiliency" is the ability "to bounce back" or "to recover." For organisations, it is generally defined as their ability to ensure the continuity of key activities in case of disruption(s).
Unlike Resiliency, Disaster Recovery focuses on the recovery of an organisation’s critical IT infrastructure following any disruptive event such as cyclones, floods, or cyberattacks.
Given the increasing number of threats, regulatory bodies in most East African countries encourage economic stakeholders to strengthen their resiliency. Thus, deadlines were imposed on them for the implementation of their Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS). Organisations will have to strengthen their Resiliency strategy by assessing their current recoverability in terms of security and financial stability.
BIRGER. has the relevant expertise and experience in the field of Resiliency. We provide tailor-made solutions to help our customers implement their own BCMS.
It is important for organisations to evaluate their risks and Business Continuity requirements, with a close collaboration between the Board of Directors and their executive team as well as their operational staff.
It is essential to learn from experience to better recover after disruptive events, , especially in unplanned situations. Disruptive events can reveal long-neglected issues, and the solution is to invest in new working methods leveraging on innovation. Effective recovery requires collaboration with all stakeholders.
Several technological tools can help businesses to manage their Operational Resilience. To have a competitive edge, organisations must integrate tools in their operations, including risk registers, Business Impact Assessments (BIA), Business Continuity Plans (BCP), and the management of data stored internally and in the cloud.
BIRGER. proposes an array of services including our state-of-the-art Data Centers, server colocation, IT equipment, advisory services and virtual Work Area Recovery (WAR) for secure remote working.
Having a three-tier approach ensures the recovery of key operations by mitigating the risks in the event of any disruptive events. BIRGER. offers work places in three business centres strategically located around the island: Port Louis Centre, Phoenix (Valentina), and Forest Side. These work places host state-of-the-art technology and benefit from the on-site support of BIRGER.’s experts.
To reduce costs while increasing customers’ satisfaction, more and more organisations are moving towards the cloud, which provides agility, flexibility, and exceptional modularity. However, there is currently no specific standard for the cloud, which can be an issue for sectors like banking.
